We understand how overwhelming life can feel at times, but with the consistent support of an engaged, empathetic therapist, that weight can become manageable. As therapists, we believe that truly effective care begins with seeing the world through the eyes of our clients. While we welcome and care for individuals from all backgrounds, we are especially attuned to the distinct experiences of women and people of color. We welcome you to take the first step in your healing journey.

Though we often struggle in silence, many of us face challenges or hardships in our lives that require more than just a brave face. It is not uncommon to feel stuck, burnt out, or simply at your wits' end when trying to juggle it all on your own. Through empathy and trust, we can work together to lighten the mental load you may be carrying. My experience with providing therapy to children helps me connect and heal the individuals still carrying trauma from their childhood. My goal is to offer a supportive, comfortable environment where healing and progress can flourish. I am especially passionate about working with domestic violence survivors.

  • Helping children and teens navigate anxiety, school stress, behavioral challenges, peer pressure, bullying, emotional regulation, and family transitions.

  • Supporting individuals impacted by emotional, physical, verbal, financial, or psychological abuse as they work toward safety, healing, and rebuilding self-worth.

  • Helping individuals manage excessive worry, overthinking, panic, perfectionism, stress, and the daily challenges that interfere with work, relationships, and overall well-being.

  • Supporting individuals experiencing low motivation, sadness, hopelessness, isolation, loss of interest, and difficulty managing everyday responsibilities.

  • Helping women navigate self-esteem concerns, relationship challenges, motherhood, burnout, boundary-setting, life transitions, and finding balance between caring for themselves and others.

I understand how overwhelming it can be when anxiety, grief, or major life transitions begin to interfere with daily life. Many of my clients express concerns like, “I’m not enough,” “What’s wrong with me?” or “I don’t recognize who I’ve become.” These questions often surface during periods of significant change and uncertainty. I am passionate about helping adults navigate these challenging seasons. I also work with adolescents (ages 12–17) who are facing identity exploration, academic pressures, anxiety, and difficulties in forming healthy relationships. Through a collaborative approach, I help teens build resilience, express their emotions more freely, and begin to define their own path forward. With adults, my work focuses on emotional regulation, self-esteem, life transitions, neurodivergence, and trauma recovery. My goal is to meet each client where they are—creating a space where they feel seen, heard, and supported as they move toward healing and growth.

Tymir Ash-Shaheed

I believe healing begins with feeling seen, heard, and understood. As an African American therapist and community advocate, I provide a compassionate, culturally responsive space where adolescents, adults, and families can explore life's challenges without judgment.

My background in education and community advocacy has shown me how vocational stress, systemic inequities, economic hardship, institutional bias, and discrimination can create anxiety, depression, identity struggles, and internal conflict. Together, we'll process these experiences, build practical coping skills, strengthen your resilience, and work toward meaningful, lasting change.

Whether you're navigating career challenges, life transitions, relationship concerns, or the emotional impact of systemic barriers, I'm committed to meeting you where you are and helping you move from surviving to thriving.

  • Stress related to work, career changes, or finding your purpose

  • Navigating racism, discrimination, and the emotional impact of systemic barriers
